"forsooth your promises are but a cows rectum" relayed Gwen.

I am now going to blog about meat and beer and cheese which i am eithe rplanning on making, making or about to start - and why not its my new hobby and a blog should reflect your hobbies, which is why so far this blog has been about me sitting on a couch watching my life slowly but surely grind away with no real motivation ...

"A list, why sir i am the A-list" bellowed Godfrey

Things i will do tonight
1) get two buses
2) read empire magazine
3) bundle the kids
4) kiss the girl
5) drink my new concoction of apple cider vinegar and bicarb soda in water
6) wonder what to have for tea

when you look at life its often difficult to see the meaning, the reasons, the why this could be considered quite depressing really

especially as an alternative list of things i don't intend to do but need to do reads

1) strip off silicone
2) re-lay silicone
3) paint that patch where the paint peeled

if i could my list would be

1) go to the pub with Sar
2) fornicate
3) leave the pub for a curry
4) smile sweetly at the sleeping children
5) fornicate
6) sleep soundly for 12 hours
7) wake up and watch a bridge too far or that film about the baader meinhof

so basically my ideal world and alternative world are not that far apart - either this represents low aspiration or complete satisfaction

"A cylindrical phonogram.... wow" barked Jemima

The P2P debate often causes me some cognitive dissonance. I illegally download for a few reasons - i'm cheap being the main one. however i also consume music in rather large quanitites, my vinyl weighs a ton, my CD weigh several foot pounds, my 7" is heavy in my hands.

I have in short paid my dues, and in doing so my god have i bought some crap under the guise suck it and see, this i accept i took the risk and in some cases it worked and in others it really really didnt. However, alot of my music i have bought is because i am a fan, both a fan of music and a fan of the people who produce it (and the producers who produce the production of music). I bought cut the crap by the Clash, i bought The Great escape by blur, i bought ..well you get the idea. Quality control from majors and indies wasnt on my side during these tiems and opportunity to listen beforehand was limited, singles are not always a good precursor to albums - and dagnabit i bought them too.

but the times have changed oh my they have changed - and they changed while a lazy, drunken and self abused industry sat back and did nothing about it - then suddenly when they perceived they were getting spanked hard they reacted in a big song and dance about how ill-treated they were.
and thus i was going to continue until i read what Charlie Brooker had wrote and it was so concise and to the point i thought fuck it i'll copy and paste it:

“Apart from the occasional hardcore miser, the kind who’d shoplift at Oxfam, the vast majority of people who illegally download music from the internet do so because they bloody love music. They’re resorting to theft because they’re either too skint to afford 79p per track (often because they’re students), or because what they’re looking for is too obscure to find by commercial means, or because it’s been leaked and isn’t officially available and they’re just too damn excited to wait. In the main, these are dedicated fans: precisely the same audience who in days of yore would’ve filled C90 cassettes with songs taped off the radio. In its heyday, the Radio 1 Sunday evening Top 40 countdown constituted the biggest file-sharing portal in British history, with millions of users hooked up simultaneously, mercilessly downloading content to their tape decks.”

yeah that's pretty much it

"Enter" the door wouldnt move "ENTER" thundered the voice

Direction

which direction should i take

i like lists

lists work

however i forget things so easily now - maybe i should type everything, words such as:

Contingency - i often forget the word contingency - to have blogged contingency means i always have access to it

El Lissitzky - my favorite artists, yet an artist alongside Lebedev i fail often to recall

actually i'm racking my brains for others things i forget - i have either forgotten them or actually the list is only

1) contingency
2) El Lissitzky
3) Vladamir Lebedev

Here's some El Lissitzky for you:

"Ludite" echoed Sebastian

Finally updated my blog - no more is this a bastion for me uploading pictures of trainers to the internet its a document of my life, my dreams, my aspirations, my children, my love, my failings, many many failings.

I pledge three things to you

1) I will update once a week with something of interest - of interest to whom is the issue though.
2) I will attempt clarity, punctuation and correct spelling. However, be warned, i feel grammar is a tool of the archaic used to constrain the new, you know like ironing.
3) to always look groovy daddyo

oh four things actually

4) to always end on a couple of kisses

xx
